Canadian Olympic Medallists Give to Charity

Two of Canadian’s 2010 Winter Olympics medallists have dug deep into their pockets and donated CAD $25,000 to charity.

Jennifer Heil and Alex Bilodeau have both donated in the aftermath of their successful Olympic campaigns.

Heil, silver medallist in the mogul competition donated to the ‘Because I am a Girl’ cause, while Bilodeau, a gold medallist in the same event in the men’s category, has made his donation to cerebral palsy research.

Not only are these two great ambassadors for their sport, these donations are a shining inspiration to children who aim to follow in their footsteps.

How to Save Tax by Making Charitable Donations

An online video documenting how you can save money by donating to charities as a Canadian citizen.

Donate a Car (Canada)

Instead of trading in your car, or sending it to the dreaded scrapheap, why not donate your car to charity?

DonateACar.ca aims to convert cars for sale into charitable donations.

By donating your car, you can help one of a wide range of charities that are affiliated with this site, have your car picked up free of charge, and sold on your behalf. If you are in the Alberta area, you may want to consider making the ultimate charitable donations and trade in your car for a fuzzy feeling charity donation. The cream on top, your donation is tax deductible.

The Canadian Book of Charities

Since the late 1970’s, the Canadian Book of Charities idea was born to connect donors and charities across the nation. Through decades of hard work, the founders, Yvonne Trapman and Frances Dobbs received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for their continued dedication and innovation for fundraising.

The creators consider the book (which is also online) a ‘must have’ resource for executives looking to source specific charitable causes tailored to their charitable intentions.

CanadaHelps.org

Canadahelps.org aims to make donations by charitable Canadians simple, by creating a conglomeration of registered charities on its website, enabling donations to be made to them online.

As an addition to this goal, their site intends to increase the prominence of Canadian charities by allowing donations to be made to them via the site.

Canadahelps.org has raised over CAD $100 million since the site’s inception.
